Paddy Atkinson will be hoping to record his first victory as Whitley Bay manager when he takes his side to Sunderland RCA on Saturday.
However, the Ryhope club’s Meadow Park pitch has been suffering from drainage problems since before Christmas and their last home game was switched to a neutral venue.
The current cold snap could also cause problems so Bay fans are advised to keep up to date on the club website at www.whitleybayfc.com
RCA are struggling near the foot of the table and will be battling for every point as they bid to avoid relegation, but Whitley will be hopeful of picking up a victory which would see them complete the double over the Wearsiders, who went down 2-1 at Hillheads back in September.
The new Bay manager is hoping to bring in at least one new player in time for the game as he seeks to strengthen the squad he inherited earlier this month.
Whitley have been drawn away to Blyth Spartans in the semi-final of the Northumberland Senior Cup, with the tie to be played at Croft Park on Tuesday, February 17, kick off 7.30pm.
