The North Tynesiders will be seeking revenge for a 1-0 defeat when the sides met at Hillheads shortly before Paddy Atkinson departed as manager.

The club are buoyant following their North Tyneside derby win over North Shields on Easter Monday and a resounding 8-1 League Cup success at Esh Winning a few days earlier.

They will now be determined to pick up all three points from Saturday’s visit to the relegation favourites, but in a season where there has been an abundance of surprise results, they will be taking nothing for granted when they visit the Norton Sports Complex.

Back at Hillheads next Tuesday evening, Whitley take on sixth place Washington, eager to make up for a 1-0 defeat at the Nissan Sports Ground last November.

Six points from these two games would go a long way to banishing any lingering fears of relegation, but manager Ian Chandler will need to make full use of his squad and dip into the talented group of reserve team players as injuries and fatigue mount up.
