Paul Kane has joined Whitley Bay from South Shields.

This will be Bay’s first game at Hillheads since Christmas and the club is desperately hoping fixture can go ahead despite the anticipated poor weather.

It is a game where Whitley will have a great opportunity to pick up maximum points as the Teessiders are struggling at the foot of the table in their first season back in the top flight.

New striker Paul Kane, who signed from South Shields on Friday, is expected to make his debut while Alex Kempster is available again having completed his three-match suspension.

Much to the frustration of all concerned, Whitley Bay’s scheduled fixture at Bishop Auckland on Saturday was called off at 9am as a section of the Heritage Park pitch was waterlogged.
