Megan Grass, Annie Ritson, Emily Dodds, Eve Mullen, Sarah Clews and Jess Smith celebrate Whitley Coast Soccer U14 girls' third goal against Cullercoats.

Whitley Coast Soccer had an early chance when Sarah Clews worked a good opening only to see her shot held by the Cullercoats keeper.

Annie Ritson, who has been in fine goal scoring form all season, wasted no time in getting her name on the scoresheet with a good finish after Cullercoats failed to deal with a corner.

Within ten minutes Coast were two up when Ritson netted from close range.

Cullercoats responded with a fine goal from Beth Waterston, who burst into the box on the right and let fly with a shot that rocketed into the top corner.

Coast then made a substitution, which made an immediate impact as Eve Mullen replaced Amelia Gates.

Clews took the ball down outside the Cullercoats box and played a great ball between the defenders for Mullen to run on to and finish well, shooting across the keeper to make it 3-1.

Just before half-time Coast won another corner and yet again Cullercoats failed to clear as Lola Dean Chambers stabbed the ball home.

The second half started with Cullercoats seeing more of the ball and this paid off when again Waterston used her strength well to score her second goal and give Cullercoats hope.

Coast nearly went 5-2 up when they laid siege to the Cullercoats goal but some goal line clearances and a good goalkeeping kept Coast out.

Cullercoats pressed but could not manage to get their shots on target, and on the two occasions when they did Ruby Duffy in the Coast goal made good saves.

The game ended 4-2 to Coast with captain Emily Dodds picking up the cup.
