Tynemouth United Under 11 had two teams in the NEYDL league cup final, held at KYPC’s Amberley Park.
And it was the Yellows who overcame their Tynemouth Blues counterparts to lift the trophy thanks to a 2-0 win, after a tricky route to the final with wins over Cramlington United and league leaders Stocksfield.
The Yellows dominated most of the game and had the majority of possession, resulting in two first half goals from Tom West.
A club spokesman said: “The final was played in the true spirit of the game with players, coaches and supporters showing due respect to their opponents in both victory and defeat.
“Both sides are a credit to Tynemouth United and should be proud of their achievements in reaching the final and playing in such a sporting manner.”
