A YOUNG footballer from North Shields is ready to represent his country at the home of Newcastle United.

The Northumberland Schools’ Football Association (NSFA) will host the schoolboy international as part of its centenary season celebrations.

Peter, who plays for New Hartley Juniors, said: “I have supported Newcastle United all my life and it is a dream come true to represent my country and to be playing at a ground close to my heart.

“I never thought my own talent would lead me to such an honour and I hope everyone from the north east will come along and support us.”

Another Northumberland county player, Kyle Downey from Ashington High School, is also in the squad for the game, which kicks-off at 8pm and is being shown live on Sky Sports 2.

Tickets for the game are priced at £6 for adults and £4 for under 18s.

They are available at or or via cash turnstiles in the East Stand on the night.

The NSFA is parent body for all school football in Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside and provides a variety of competitions for boys and girls of all ages.
