Whitley Warriors secured a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Solihull Barons at Hillheads on Sunday evening, writes Emma Hill.

In a high tempo first period, Whitley fell behind to an Adam Brittle goal on 19:42.

In the second period, Solihull doubled this lead just eight seconds after Whitley’s successful penalty kill, Brittle again on hand to slot past Richie Lawson. Gaining momentum, the Warriors opened their account through Ben Campbell on 38:43.

Battling back, the Warriors equalised on the power play through Phil Edgar on 46:00. Seizing control, Captain Dean Holland then bagged a brace in the final ten minutes, first achieving a 3-2 lead on 51:02 before netting an empty net goal 56 seconds from the final buzzer for a 4-2 league win.
