HAVING already secured promotion, Shields needed a win to be crowned as league champions.
Shields started the day off in positive fashion, scoring 50 points in the first half, tries coming from Andrew Burrows, Peter Finlay, Simon Morgan, Ryan Ramsey, Dean Harrison (2) and Gavin Duffy (2).
To their credit, Aycliffe registered a score of their own to make the interval tally 53-5.
The second half saw the introduction of back row Andrew Knowles, returning from a long-term injury.
A superb run from prop Harry Watson saw him almost reach the try line. However, he unselfishly passed for Knowles to score.
Further tries came from Daniel Person, Gav Irving and Harrison.
This win capped off a fantastic campaign for Shields, who have scored over 1,000 points and maintained an unbeaten home record all season.
Next week, Shields face Edwardians in the semi-final of the junior vase. This promises to be a monumental battle, with the winner securing a place at Twickenham.
