A SIX-week beginner’s course in badminton is being launched in August across the north east.
John Spence High School is launching its first TryBadminton course.
Starting on Friday, August 10, the course will run each week from 7pm to 8pm.
At the end of six weeks, those interested can carry on playing at Whitley Bay Badminton Club.
Lynsey Edwards, regional officer for Badminton England, said: “The TryBadminton course offers participants a really fun and social opportunity to improve their badminton, all for just £15.
“Even more exciting is that after the six-week course finishes you can continue playing every week at the No Strings Badminton sessions.”
John Walker, from John Spence High School, added: “Badminton is an enjoyable and challenging sport that is suitable for everyone regardless of age, fitness level or skill.
“We are delighted to introduce TryBadminton and hope this course will encourage more people to try the sport, improve their existing skills or give them the confidence to continue playing.”
