Bushido Judo Kwai Club members win 13 medals

Junior judo enthusiasts from Wallsend, Cramlington and Morpeth competed in the second All England Judo Federation Northern Regional competition at the Riverside Leisure Centre in Morpeth on Sunday.

Eight members from Wallsend’s Bushido Judo Kwai won a total of five gold, five silver and three bronze medals.

The team consisted of Lydia Bamford, Lewis Andrews, Jack Barnett, Kadi Henderson, Jessie Beckingham, Rachael Bate, Millie Williams and Jessica Bate.

Competitors were given the opportunity to compete in their own age group, as well as a second event which was the Open.

The Bushido Judo Kwai train on Monday and Friday evenings 6.30pm to 8pm at Kings Estate Residents’ Association, Milfield Avenue, Kings Estate, Wallsend, NE28 9JF.
