Collingwood Tennis Club girls’ teams had a treble victory weekend with wins over Tennis World Middlesbrough, Durham Archery and Beverley Park clubs.
The 12s team of Anna Winship, Laura Day, Jasmine Hacioglu and Mia Wallace all won matches to seal a good 8-4 victory at Midddlesbrough.
On the Sunday, Winship, Hacioglu and Wallace teamed up with Clara Loughlin to record a 4-2 win at Durham Archery in defence of their Northumberland/Durham league title.
Collingwood Girls 16’s B team had a good win over Beverley Park with Amy Hedworth, Adeline Myburgh and Hannah Chapman all winning singles after which Hedworth teamed up with Molly Robinson to win the doubles, as did Myburgh and Chapman for a 5-1 success.
Collingwood’s boys team had a double win over Ponteland at 12s and 14 levels.
Alex Jay was the star of the team for the 12s as he won his singles and teamed up with Gabe Allonby to win the doubles.
Matt Smith also won both matches and teamed up with Jordan Hill to win a tight doubles.
With Allonby winning the singles comfortably, Collingwood took a 5-1 victory.
The 14s team of Matt Robson, Tom Ridley, Noah Neill and Matt Smith travelled to Ponteland and all boys won their singles comprehensively in straight sets.
Player of the match Matt Smith, playing in his first 14s game, won his singles and teamed up with Neill to take the doubles rubber and win the match 5-1 overall.
