Collingwood Tennis Club’s 14 and under boys and girls currently top their Aegon north divisions after successive wins against Sunderland Tennis Centre and David Lloyd Teesside respectively.
The boys entertained Sunderland at Priors Park on Sunday with Matt Robson and Tom Ridley again coming up with good wins to maintain their unbeaten record in the competition.
With Sam and Gabe Allonby also winning without dropping a game, the match was Collingwood’s very quickly.
The girls travelled to Teesside and came away with a 12-0 win.
Laura van Ransbeke and Ailsa Denholm won both singles and doubles in straight sets, as did Molly Robinson and Hannah Chapman.
Collingwoods girls 12s also top the Aegon north division A league after a victory over Ponteland last Saturday.
Laura Day and Emily Harrison combined well in the doubles and were too strong for their opposition in the singles, winning without dropping a set.
Lucy Cox also performed well, winning a close three-set match, and with Clara Louglin also winning on debut, Collingwood took all 12 points on offer.
Collingwood mini orange team had a less successful day against a strong Cramlington team with Jacob Eccles the only layer winning a match in a 9-1 reverse.
Josh Barnaby, Lucy Robinson and Eleanor King all performed well in their first mini orange fixture.
