Collingwood Tennis Club girls top the Aegon Northeast 14s League after a 6-0 win over Yarm on Sunday.
Mia Wallace had a tough match but came through victorious in the third set 10-7.
Clara Loughlin won in straight sets, as did Anna Winship and Libby Hall.
Both Collingwood pairs of Wallace/Louglin and Hall/Winship were too strong in the doubles, winning comfortably for a 6-0 opening day victory.
Collingwood boys’ team of Gabe Allonby, Alex Jay, Matt Smith and Dan Collins were less successful despite playing some great tennis in a closely fought game against strong opposition away to Yarm, coming away on the wrong end of 6-0 scoreline.
Collingwood’s mini red team of Sam Cottrell, Luke Thompson, Evie Tones and William Blacklidge played outstanding in their first competitive mini red game as a team with many players having five seasons left to play in the mini red age group.
