Collingwood Tennis Club’s mini green team enjoyed a thumping 6-0 victory over Alnwick last weekend.

Jacob Eccles and Lucy Robinson starred for the home team with emphatic 4-0, 4-0 singles wins and then teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles in straight sets.

With wins also for Evie Cotterill and Tom Walsh, Collingwood green team sit top of the Northeast League division one.

Collingwood’s red team had a tougher time losing to a good Cullercoats reds at the weekend.

The team of Luke Thompson, Katie Teodorzuk, Evie Tones and Max Thompson have performed well throughout the winter despite players giving away a good number of years.

Luke Thomspon, Sam Cotterill, Davis Wood and Evie Tones all have at least another season at red level whilst Katie Teodorzuk and Max Thompson will be valuable additions to the orange squad.

Collingwood Girls’ 18s currently top the Northeast Girls division one after a solid win over Durham Archery last Sunday.

Star for the home team was 12-year-old Clara Loughlin, who won her debut under-18s game playing at No. 2 singles and combined well with Hannah Chapman to take the No. 1 doubles.

With Molly Robinson and Amy Hedworth winning their singles and doubles in straight sets, Collingwood took a 5-1 victory.
