Collingwood Tennis Club’s mini Orange team were crowned David Lloyd League orange winners last weekend after a good 7-3 victory over the home club.
The team of Matt Barnaby, Max Thompson, Evie Tones and Lucy O’Hanlon won all their matches over the winter period, beating Cramlington, David Lloyd and Cullercoats 2, all home and away.
All the team have shown massive improvement over the winter and finished with a winning percentage of 75 per cent matches won.
Collingwood Girls’ 18s travelled to Alnwick on Sunday and came back with a good victory which secured the Girls’ 18 and Under Northeast League title for the Tynemouth club.
Thirteen-year-old Clara Loughlin had to play at No. 1 singles due to having the highest rating, but she was not fazed and put in a great performance, winning her match alongside her more experienced team members, Hannah Chapman, Amy Hedworth and Molly Robinson, for a 6-0 overall victory.
