CULLERCOATS Tennis Club’s Condors mini tennis red team had a fine opening day 14-2 victory over Beverly Park in the north east mini tennis red league last weekend at Churchill indoor centre.
Sam Knowles, Paul Freeman and Zoe Parkin all won their four matches and Lucas Bowler performed well to win two singles games in his first match.
The team are currently top of the league after the first round of games.
Cullercoat Cougars mini red team played extremely well in an 8-8 draw against a strong David Lloyd outfit.
The team of Alfie and Archie Stokes, Thomas O’Hara and Noah Johnstone all played really well, winning a singles match each in their first game.
Twins Alfie and Archie starred for Cullercoats in their debut by winning all of their matches to help the team to a deserved draw.
Meanwhile Cullercoats mini orange team had a tough game against David Lloyd, eventually losing 6-4.
Olivia Peterson and Oscar Daniel won the most points for the team by taking a singles each and combining well to win their doubles in the three sets.
Harry Perkins was unlucky to lose both matches in three sets including an epic 1-7, 16-14, 7-9 encounter.
Jonny Jordan, playing at No. 1, won a singles and teamed up with Perkins in a really close 8-6, 5-7 3-7 doubles loss.
