Crusaders pay the price for lack of key personnel

Top of the table North Shields Crusaders made the short trip to Seghill Deputies for this River Derwent County League fixture.

The Crusaders were missing a few key players meaning Tommy Rendles filled in a scrum half and Kyle Wharton stepped into fly half. In the pack Lee Brown made his Crusaders debut in the second row.

As a result Seghill ran out comfortable winners.

In the first half they scored two tries, a penalty and one conversion to lead 15-0. Two converted second half tries made the final score 29-0. Man-of-the-match for the Crusaders was emergency flanker Iain Finlay. Next week the Crusaders are away to Wallsend Warriors.
