Collingwood Boys 12s team had back-to-back wins over Ponteland and Yarm last weekend in the Northumberland and Aegon leagues.
For Collingwood, Gabe Allonby went unbeaten, winning both singles and teaming up well with regular doubles partner Alex Jay to win both doubles.
Jay also won both singles and showed great reserve to turn the game around in a tough third set tiebreak.
On Saturday at Priors Park, Collingwood no 3 Josh Harrison won a straight sets singles and teamed up well with Matt Smith to also take the doubles rubber, also in straight sets.
With Matt Smith winning the no4 singles comfortably, Collingwood beat Ponteland 6-0 to go top of the Northumberland/Durham boys 12s A league.
Dan Collins played some great tennis and was unlucky to lose a third set tiebreak in his singles and couldn’t turn the doubles rubber with Matt Smith in their favour, losing in two sets.
Smith had a tougher game on Sunday but staged a remarkable comeback from 2-0 down to take the thirdrd set and match 10-4 which swung it Collingwood’s way for an 8-4 victory over Yarm.
