THE Beverley Park Tennis Club boys’ under-16 B team completed their Northumberland and Durham League with a rare draw.
The match was played at home in windy conditions against newly formed Tyne Valley LTC.
James Thomas at one battled hard but lost to a higher ranked player.
Dan Walker, making his debut, comfortably won his singles, dropping only one game, and then won with Jamie Farnworth in the doubles, again at the expense of only one dropped game.
Cameron Barlow narrowly lost out in his singles, losing in a third set tie break.
With the other doubles going to the away team, Farnworth came from a set down to win a heroic 14-12 third set tie break.
This resulted in a tie at three rubbers each and then on count back of sets and games, the teams could not be separated and so shared the points.
The B team only lost one match in the league campaign and are looking forward to the winter league season.
