A new ‘Family Smash Up Badminton’ session started on Saturday, May 2, at Hadrian Leisure Centre in Wallsend.
Three families have already experienced the programme, which takes place every Saturday from 10am to 11am.
The coach, Sarah, has a bag of badminton games to share with everyone so people can learn how to play in a fun and friendly environment.
The cost is £1 for children and £2 for adults.
Children aged four to seven must be supervised by an adult of 16 years or older.
Meanwhile the centre is holding an ‘Essentials Badminton’ course over five weeks from Thursday, June 18, from 7.30pm to 9pm.
The cost is £15 with an ease card or £20 without, and there is a free badminton racket for those who sign up. Places are limited.
