TYNEMOUTH Cricket Club stalwart Ian Stewart ran in the full Kielder Marathon around the famous reservoir.
He completed the challenging course in four hours and seven minutes.
Stewart, pictured, said: “I really wanted to break four hours but the tank was very much empty and I couldn’t give any more.
“The day started at 6.15am, in order to catch the race bus to the start. On arrival the weather was quite grim, but better than being too hot.
“Kielder is rather hilly. This affected my time.
“Many thanks to those who agreed to sponsor me and the messages, both before and after of support were most appreciated.”
The sponsorship is being put towards specific improvements required at the cricket ground.
