Jordan stars for Cullercoats Tennis Club’s 16s

Cullercoats Boys 16s’ second team were unlucky not to come away with a draw in last weekend’s match with Alnwick firsts.

Dom Gunning played well but lost a close three set game at No.1 singles. He then teamed up with Jonny Jordan to take the No.1 doubles emphatically 4-2, 4-2.

Jordan’s much improved serve was applied well in his No.2 singles during a convincing straight sets debut win.

Peter Black and Cameron Daniel played well but could not win the vital rubber that would ensure a draw with Cullercoats eventually going down 4-2.

Cullercoats Girls 16s also performed well but gave away many years in age to a strong Durham Archery team.

Emma Charlton recorded a fine win at No.1 singles over a higher rated player, 4-1, 5-3.

Rachel Foreman and Lydia Clark were both unlucky to lose third set tie-breaks, as were Clark and Steph Black in the No.2 doubles in an overall 5-1 defeat.
