Marks ends 21 years as chairman of Monkseaton Cricket Club

Monkseaton Cricket Club held their annual general meeting last week and the event was marked by the resignation of chairman Paul Marks after 21 dedicated and highly successful years.

He said he thought it was time for a change of leadership and handed the reins over to club secretary Tony Errington, who was in turn succeeded by Matt Kleyhans.

The club expressed its gratitude to Marks for all his tremendous work in the past.

Cameron Butler was re-elected first team captain with Matty Kleyhans as his deputy.

Kevin Elliott was also re-elected second team captain with up and coming star John Durkin as vice-captain.

Club stalwart Nigel Green was re-appointed third team captain with Davy Dodds as his number two.

The club decided to resurrect the midweek team which will be run under the auspices of Ben Windass and Mike Driver.

Indoor nets will begin on Tuesday, February 10, from 7.30pm until 9pm at The Parks in North Shields and will run for ten weeks.
