A judo student has won a club annual award for her achievements in 2015.

Every year Wallsend’s Bushido Judo Kwai presents an award to the best Judoka of the year.

To find the winner they hold two in-house competitions per month, one on a Monday and one on a Friday, their training days.

On each of these days they are looking for the best technique executed rather than the amount of wins.

And 12-year-old Millie Williams has been awarded the trophy for 2015.

Millie, a student at the Sacred Heart Catholic High School joined Wallsend’s Bushido Judo Kwai in 2012 and she has become an all-rounder in her chosen sport, excelling in competitions, gradings and training sessions.

Her younger sister, Jessie, has now joined and also trains with the club.

Bushido Judo Kwai trains at Kings Estate Residents Association (KERA), Millfield Avenue, Kings Estate, Wallsend.
