North Shields well beaten by in-form Sunderland

North Shields were beaten by form side Sunderland in Durham Northumberland Division 2 on Saturday.

In the pack Mark Hall and Mark Watson returned to the North Shields side. Ben Dalton switched to centre and scrum-half Dom Foster made his first team debut from the bench.

Sunderland were the stronger side and won the match comfortably.

They scored four converted tries in the first half to take a 28-0 lead.

In the second half Sunderland scored a further two tires and converted both.

The consolation try for the hosts came from fly-half Gavin Duffy who converted himself.

But Sunderland had the final say with an unconverted try to win 47-7.

Next week the first team have a week off before returning to league action with Seaton Carew the visitors to Preston Playing Fields on December 5.
