A batting collapse by Percy Main’s batsmen to Swalwell’s spin bowlers saw the men from St John’s Terrace lose by 24 runs at Swalwell CC.
Percy Main captain Barry Stewart lost the toss as Percy Main had to bowl on a good batting wicket.
Swalwell all were out for 178 in 47 overs. Barry Stewart’s bowling was rewarded with figures of 3-30 from his 11 overs.
At 83-3 Percy Main knew that one good partnership would leave them in a good position to win the match.
Unfortunately they lost three middle order wickets for 22 runs in the space of seven overs.
Dan Magee gamely went after the bowling finishing 11 not out and taking the score to 154 before his partner David Hancock was last man out bowled by Dan Brown for a duck.
Hancock’s dismissal meant that Percy Main lost by 24 runs.
Percy Main’s next game is at 1:30pm on Saturday when they host Ponteland.

Michael Boyd and Paddy Rathbone tried to repair the damage done by losing three quick wickets, their stand of 22 for the 7th wicket ended when Boyd was caught by Lloyd Anderson off John Meadows bowling for 11.
Paddy Rathbone and Ben Jenkins played positively raising the score to 143 before both men departed in successive overs.
Jenkins was out stumped for 11 from the bowling of John Meadows. Meadows ended with 3-28 from his 9 overs.
Rathbone was out for 11 in the next over caught at cover by James Welch off the bowling of Dan Brown (2-34 from 10 overs).
