Percy Park RFC have started the season well on and off the field after securing a sponsorship deal with local business Wade Financial.
The North One East outfit have won their first two games of the 2015-16 campaign, a 26-21 Senior Cup victory at Alnwick followed up with a 20-15 win over Guisborough in their opening league fixture.
They have also made significant progress behind the scenes, welcoming the North Shields-based financial planning firm on board as one of their club sponsors.
Percy Park’s professionalism and commitment to developing an academy programme for juniors were key factors in Wade Financial’s decision to back the club, according to financial planner Ian Little.
“We are always keen to support local clubs that have an impact on the community, and Percy Park’s focus on junior development from such a young age can only inspire more kids to get in the game,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to our partnership with the club, and hope that it can prove beneficial over the next few years.”
Keith Atkinson, president of Percy Park RFC, is thrilled with the link-up.
He said: “Percy Park RFC are delighted to team up with Wade Financial in giving young people of North Tyneside the opportunity and financial support to learn and play the game of rugby.
“Percy Park acknowledges that Wade Financial has a long-standing heritage in supporting local sport, and we are proud to have them as partners.”
The club, based in Preston Avenue, North Shields, will be playing their first home game of the new campaign on Saturday with Yorkshire’s Morley RFC the visitors.
