Positive report at Rockliff annual meeting

At Whitley Bay Rockcliff RFC’s fifth annual general meeting as a limited company, chairman Dave Swinburne reported on a successful 2013-14 season both on and off the pitch and thanked all the clubs volunteers for all their hard work.

With three senior sides and a growing junior and mini section, the playing sides did well with the first XV only just missing out on promotion to Durham and Northumberland One and the under-13s winning the Harrogate Festival and fielding two teams during the season.

The changing room refurbishment was completed and the club was nominated for the RFU Presidents’ award for club administration, with RFU accreditation status being award across all aspects of the club’s activities.

Looking forward to the 2014-15 season, coach Jack Lambert has recently achieved his Level 3 Coaching Badge, and at a pre-season players’ meeting more than 40 senior players attended in advance of training commencing this week.

All players, new and old are welcome to attend, for further information contact the club on (0191) 251 3704 or visit www.rockcliffrfc.co.uk

On July 19 the club will be holding a Family Fun Day, which is open to all.
