AS we move into the dark cold months of the North Tyneside Coastal Pool League, we can already see a split in the league table.
This week’s games added to this divide following some big wins for the top few.
The Red Lion B have had a good start to the season and continued this with a 12-2 win at home to the Kittiwake A while the Seahorse A and C teams enjoyed the same results at the Black Horse and at home to the Bedroom/Vic accordingly.
The Seahorse B met the Seahorse D in a derby battle and will be happy enough with their 10-4 victory while Last Orders will be satisfied with their return form the Kittiwake B with their 8-6 win.
The Townhouse travelled the short distance to VIs and must be happy with their 10-4 win whilst the Hunting Lodge will have enjoyed their victory by the same score at the Berkeley.
In the final match of the night, a late cancellation by the Red Lion A led to the Fat Ox being granted a 14-0 win though no bonus point for the win is added.
This means the Red Lion B have moved to the top of the table on 64 points from six games followed by the Seahorse C on 63 from six. The Seahorse A lie third on 61 points from five games while the Fat Ox sit joint fourth on 60 (six games) with Berties Bar who have played a game less. Next in the table is Last Orders who have also played six games but lie a huge 15 points further back.
Next week sees the first rounds of the knockout singles (up to quarter final stage) competition which is being played at one venue (Seahorse Pub) over two nights through the season. Players wishing to enter should register at the pub between 7pm and 7.15pm to allow for a swift start.
