Whitley Bay Rockcliff 13
Rockcliff’s winning streak game to an end on a wet and windy afternoon at Winlaton.
Playing with the wind and slope in their favour in he first half, Winlaton took full advantage and the sides changed ends, with the home side 15-3 up, an Andrew Webster penalty being the Red and Golds only score, while Winlaton recorded two tries, a conversion and a penalty.
With the elements in their favour in the second half, Rockcliff had Winlaton on the back foot and tries from Rob Straker and Liam Bowman got Rockcliff within two points of their hosts.
But a late Winlaton penalty put the game out of reach and Rockcliff had to settle for a losing bonus point.
Next week Rockcliff are at home to Redcar.
Meanwhile the Vikings lost 11-0 to Blaydon Bricks, and the Rangers lost 31-5 against West End. On the positive side Rockciff are fielding three senior teams.
