Tynemouth seconds hosted Newcastle seconds and secured an excellent win.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, posting an interesting target of 175-9 declared off 50 overs, leaving the hosts 55 overs to bat.
Tynemouth reached their target in the 44th over with three wickets to spare to gain 29 points to Newcastle’s six.
The seconds are in the semi-finals of both the James Bell and Roseworth competitions, but in both cases are awaiting the other quarter-final to be played to find out who will be their opponents.
Meanwhile the third team entertained Blue Flames seconds and were asked to bat first.
Finn Hodgson was bowled in the seventh over for eight, but Carl Salvidge started steadily before accelerating and batted through the 40 overs for 81 not out.
There was a further significant contribution of 30 from Ricky Handa.
Acting skipper Lee Reed hit two leg side boundaries before aimlessly wandering down the pitch to be run out for a quick ten.
Young starlet Will Perry scored a mature ten not out, running well and supporting Salvidge well to the end as 171-5 was posted, including 71 off the final ten overs.
The Flames’ reply was immediately doused when Ed Snelders bowled Rhodes with his first ball, following a tight first over from Nick McIntyre.
Snelders then drew a stunning slip catch by Reed and a caught behind by Hodgson to dismiss danger man Andy Horner and record 6-1-9-3.
McIntyre continued his pace attack with only 16 runs coming off his spell of nine overs, but wickets would not fall from the Pavilion end.
Contrastingly, Reed brought on youth at the Avenue end to good effect. Perry took 3-3 in only three overs and Ben Chater 2-8 off three overs as wickets tumbled.
Once again Don Catley had the final word by bowling number nine bat Damsara, from the Pavilion end too, recording 1-6 off four overs with Flames all out for only 43 in 25 overs.
Maximum points were secured on a fine day for the club.
