Newcastle Thunder Academy continued their 100 per cent home record with a convincing win over Hull outfit Wilberforce College.
Thunder looked the brighter in the early stages with Craig Banks and prop forward Jake Egglestone scoring superb tries.
The game settled down well after that with both teams trading set for set until Wilberforce scored out wide to take the score line to 12-6.
Thunder continued to knock on the door with some great attacking play leading to Bevan Leeke scoring a great solo effort down the right edge making the half-time score 16-6 in favour of the home side.
The second half continued in the same fashion as the first with man of the match Bevan Leeke scoring another two efforts, making it a hat-trick of tries at 26-6.
The home side looked in total control but switched off for a split second and gifted Wilberforce an easy try.
After that it was really one way traffic with Thunder getting tries from Jack Redfern, Arron Davis, Kristan Corner and Banks with his second to take the final score to 56-16.
After the game Thunder coach Jordan Robinson said: “We knew today was going to be another hard game against a big Hull outfit but our lads controlled large parts of the game and dominated the middle of the park.
“The guys understanding is getting better every week and they are really enjoying playing at the moment.
“We will be back on the training pitch next week preparing for a top of the table clash away to Greenhead. ”
