Several members of Blyth Running Club received awards at the North East Athletics League awards night held at Gateshead Stadium.
Principal guest was Commonwealth and European medallist Laura Weightman.
The overall winner of the Senior Men’s League was Daniel N’Jai while Calum Storey was second place in the Junior Men category.
Despite being unbeaten on the track in his league races, Josh Fiddaman had to settle for third place in the U13 boys league, while Charlotte Ramsay took third place in the Junior Women section.
Elsewhere, there was an impressive turnout for the first Harrier League fixture at East Cramlington Nature Reserve.
Blyth Running Club were the hosts and their hard-working team, under the guidance of Dave Kitching, were out on the course well before first light making sure that everything was ready for the record number of athletes.
With the co-operation and assistance of Lend Lease Ltd, Blyth were able to use the parking facilities at the new hospital and raised over £700 for charity, which the club are donating to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
