FOLLOWING last week’s break from pool league fixtures for the one and only preliminary game in the Knockout Cup to be played in which the Hunting Lodge triumphed over the Berkeley, it was back to league action this week.
The high flying Fat Ox entertained their ‘next door neighbours’ the Townhouse and both will be happy enough with the 7-7 draw.
The Seahorse A welcomed the Bedroom (Victoria) and will be content with their 11-3 win while the Seahorse C must be pleased with defeating Last Orders 10-4.
The Black Horse got back to winning ways with an emphatic 10-4 win against the Red Lion A while the Red Lion B went one better with their 11-3 win over the Seahorse D.
Bertie’s Bar made the short trip to the Berkeley and made even shorter work of their evening with 12-2 win while the Hunting Lodge returned from their visit to VI’s with a highly creditable 8-6 victory.
Finally this week saw the battle of the Kittiwakes as the A and B teams came face to face for the first time this season. In a one-sided match it was the A team who took the honours with a 10-4 win.
The league table is starting to take shape, although early in the season, with Bertie’s Bar and the Seahorse A top on 48 points, nine points clear of the Seahorse C in third on 39 with the Fat Ox one point further behind in fourth.
