Whitley Warriors are to host Aberdeen Lynx of the Scottish National League in a pre-season challenge game on Sunday, August 31, at Hillheads.
The game is part of the campaign build-up as Simon Leach’s side prepare for the 2014-15 season.
Warriors have already been busy this close season building their roster for the coming campaign.
And recent signing Alex Lawson, who signed for Whitley recently, is expected to be available for the clash with the Scottish side at the end of August.
Lawson comes back into the Warriors roster after taking some time away from the game.
The blue liner said: “I’m very happy to be returning to the ice for the 2014-15 season.
“The team is looking very strong this year and hopefully we are able to build upon last season’s good performance.
“I can see the team being very successful this coming season.”
Head coach Leach said: “We are very happy to welcome Alex back into the squad, he had to cut his time short in his previous spell with Warriors due to work and university commitments.
“Alex is looking forward to getting back on the ice now.
“Alex will come into the squad as a defenceman and will help fill the void left by Christian Johnson.
“It brings our defensive quota to four and we feel very happy overall on how things are progressing both on and off the ice so far this summer.
“I am currently looking to maybe add one or two more new faces to the squad before we start the action in September as we look to try and improve on last season’s position in the table.”
