Whitley Warriors will go up against the Solway Sharks in the St Andrews Cup.
The sides will take on each other over two games with the opening leg taking place at Solway’s home rink in Dumfries on Saturday, October 11, with the second leg scheduled for Sunday, November 9, (face-off 5pm) at Hillheads.
The two games will be the first contests between Warriors and Sharks in the 2014-15 season as the first league game between the sides does not take place until later in November.
Sharks coach Martin Grubb said: “The St Andrews Cup is an annual competition that we play in and have done since 1998.
“We have played various sides over the years and this year I wanted to play the Whitley Warriors as we have a good friendly rivalry between the clubs.
“I spoke to Warriors coach Simon Leach and I knew he was looking for more games, so it was a good fit for us both and we are looking forward to welcoming Warriors and their supporters up to Scotland for the game.
“It gives both teams extra games and the opportunity to use some fringe players alongside experienced players.
“I am grateful to Warriors for agreeing to the games and look forward to the match-ups.”
Whitley supporters are reminded that Warriors’ next game is a home match this coming Sunday (September 28, face-off 5pm) when they take on Sutton Sting in a NIHL North League game.
