Collingwood Tennis Club’s girls’ 14 and under team travelled to David Lloyd Teesside and came back with the points to see them top the Northeast League.
Jasmine Hacioglu had a tough game at No. 1 singles but won in the three sets.
Debutant Holly Eccles played good tennis in her first game narrowly losing her singles in three sets but combined well with Libby Hall to take the doubles, as did Hacioglu and Anna Winship to carve out a 5-1 victory.
Collingwood boys’ 18s travelled to Blaydon and the team of Olly Drake, Sam Allonby, Tom Ridly and Alex Jay were too strong, also registering a 5-1 win to see them top the league.
Collingwood’s most improved team this year have been the nine and under Orange team and again they all played well last weekend to beat Cramlington.
Max Thompson showed experience to beat the opposition No. 1 and Matt Barnaby and Evie Tones played fantastic to both win all matches in an 8-2 victory to see Collingwood top their league.
