This win leaves Whitley one point behind Oxton and nine behind leaders Durham University, but with a game in hand on both.

Rowan Poots picked up another two goals, this time both from open play. He opened the scoring with an audacious goal, flicking the ball over the keeper’s head from close range. Oxton drew level, but just before half-time Poots tapped in his second for a 2-1 interval lead.

Oxton levelled with 15 minutes remaining, but just three minutes later Ash Abdulwahid slid in for the winning goal..
