Rockcliff took a 12th minute lead thriough debutant back row player Dan Wilcox, converted by Rhys Johnstone, for 0-7.

Novos fought back and three tries gave them a 19-7 lead at the break.

In the second half Andrew Leitch touched down and Johnstone converted, but as Rockcliff pressed for the match-winning score, Novos picked up on a loose ball and raced away from their own half to score their fourth try of the game and put the game beyond the visitors.
