‘Round my corner’ - Kitman - Blyth

We teamed up with the National Youth Film Festival Awards to showcase the best of teenage UK talent in a short-film contest.

The competition closed on the 11th October but the attached film was an entry from your area.

Film details and synopsis:

This film was made by Alex Ayre, 19 from Newcastle Upon Tyne.

A short documentary, directed by Alex Ayre, centred around non-league football kit man Tony Kennedy, who recently retired after serving more than 1000 games for his beloved Blyth Spartans. The film shows how his good hearted nature and commitment to the role has earned him a cult status amongst players, officials and fans.

The ‘Round My Corner’ competition focused on family, friends and local neighbourhoods and could have been filmed on anything from a professional video camera to a smartphone.

To enter, you had to be aged between 14 and 19 and produce a film no longer than three minutes in length based on what ‘Round My Corner’ means to you.

Although the competition is now closed, you can still send us your videos highlighting anything that may be happening in the area around you.
