You’d be one Smooth Criminal if you stole a look into a top tribute gig next week.
Michael Jackson’s official body double Navi is set to return to Whitley Bay to give a performance at The Playhouse on Thursday.
The tribute artist is known for his uncanny resemblance to the late King of Pop, and in 2003 performed for Michael Jackson at his 45th birthday, which led to a working relationship between the pair over many years.
Jackson would also use Navi as a decoy to distract mobs of waiting fans in various venues.
Since the star’s death in 2009, Navi has continued to work alongside the MJ Estate, and in January 2010 he performed to a sell-out London O2 Indigo audience, the same venue where the planned This Is It Jackson concerts were to take place.
He now brings his new tour, The King of Pop – the Legend Continues, to the Playhouse Whitley Bay, with a live band and dancers to assist in re-creating all the classics, from the Jackson 5 to smash-hits such as Thriller, Billie Jean, Man in the Mirror, and more.
Navi will perform at the Playhouse on Thursday, December 3, at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the concert cost from £10.
