The world-renowned Moscow Ballet of Classical Choreography, known as la Classique for short, will be dancing into Whitley Bay next week.
The famous dance group will be returning to the coast with its latest production of Swan Lake.
Founded in 1990, the group is made up of ballet dancers from the leading theatres of world.
The Russian company has thrilled ballet lovers during tours of Egypt, Morocco, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Norway, Israel, Thailand, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the UK, winning international acclaim.
Some of the male dancers in this talented company have themselves achieved star status in their own country.
Soloists Nadezda Ivanova, Andrey Shalin, Andrey Lyapin, and Dmitry Smirnov lead the Moscow ballet company under the direction of Elik Melikov.
The fairytale ballet, written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Vladimir Begichev and Vasily Geltser and first performed in 1876, is said to be a favourite of ballerinas and audiences alike.
The group are performing at the Playhouse Whitley Bay, in Marine Avenue, on Tuesday, October 20.
