A local band are hoping to be on song after being shortlisted for a music award.

Denature, based in North Tyneside, have been nominated for best music video in the Ubeat awards – the first music awards in the north east, to be held on December 4.

The band, who are releasing their first album Loss at the end of December, describe themselves as writing “alternative electronic music which has a very cinematic feel to it”.

They worked with Royal Television award-winner Chris Lavelle on the video for their song Time.

Singer Anna Leigh Middleton said: “I am so pleased that Time has been shortlisted, we worked very hard on producing this song.

“Chris has truly brought it to life. We had so much fun filming our video and I feel so happy that the hard work has been recognised.”
