A major headlining act in Whitley Bay this weekend for a poignant concert.
Irish singer Rose-Marie will be performing at the Playhouse after headlining in Las Vegas.
She said: “It’s great to be back at Whitley Bay, and I do love to be beside the seaside. It makes such a refreshing change from Las Vegas and I’m so looking forward to performing in front of fans.”
Her recent release, Songs For My Mother, is her 24th album release.
However, the event at the Playhouse will be an emotional one as the show will mark the first anniversary of the death of her sister to breast cancer.
Rose-Marie added: “It was such a sad time when I lost my sister, and I have been helping raise the awareness of breast cancer ever since.
“I’ll be thinking of her when I perform my show in Whitley Bay and singing as she is watching me from the audience.”
The hit songs Rose-Marie will be performing at her concert include When I Leave the World Behind, When Your Old Wedding Ring was New, So Lucky, Pal of my Cradle Days, The Answer to Everything and These Boots are Made for Walking.
Rose-Marie performs at The Playhouse, Whitley Bay, on Saturday, August 15, at 7.30pm. Tickets on 0844 248 1588.
