More than 100 children from the North East will star in a summer production in Whitley Bay.
Anne Dalton’s musical, the Pied Piper, will be on stage at the Playhouse, Whitley Bay, from August 4 to 6 and features youngsters in supporting and principal roles – all from the North East.
Based on the much-loved classic tale, this musical appeals to all ages. When Hamelin is overrun by rats all seems lost but the Pied Piper arrives to rid the town of its rats forever. The townsfolk promise a reward but refuse to pay up when the job is done.
The town’s children leave home to teach their greedy parents a lesson but become trapped by a violent storm in the mountains.
Will the Pied Piper be able to complete a dangerous quest to save them?
The professional ABD Productions cast is working with two teams of local youngsters in the run-up to the performances.
