The aim of British Sandwich Week is to honour the simple snack – a tasty filling inside two pieces of bread which takes just seconds to prepare and is handy if you’re on the go.
According to data conducted by Tesco, sandwiches are having a ‘moment’, with sales of the lunchtime staple growing by more than a third (38%) since 2021.
The supermarket also revealed that the all-day breakfast sandwich, the sausage, bacon and egg triple, was supermarket’s best-selling sandwich for the past three years, with more than a million sold on average each month.
Taking the silver spot was the chicken triple closely followed by cheese and onion, chicken, bacon and stuffing and chicken club.Whatever your personal favourite is, here is a list of the 19 best places in Northumberland to enjoy a sandwich according to Google ratings:
