Call made for improved lighting at 'dangerous' A1 junction

Concerns have been raised about the lighting at a junction of the A1 near Belford.

The quality of visibility at the Detchant junction to the north of Belford was raised by Coun Thomas Keys.

“I think it’s dangerous at night-time, you can’t see the junction,” he said.

Junction improvements are being carried out at the southern end of the village.

“It’s a Highways England issue but they’re doing junction improvements north of Ellingham so it’s a good time to ask,” said Coun Guy Renner-Thompson.
