Northumberland stately homes open gardens for charity
It will be open on Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27 with funds going to the National Garden Scheme (NGS) and the Red Cross.
Fallodon Hall, once owned by the Grey family involved in abolishing the slave trade and supporting votes for woman, has opened its gardens to the public once a year, almost continuously, for over 50 years.

Hide AdVisitors are very welcome to walk around the gardens to see the herbaceous borders, trees and shrubs, arboretum, greenhouses and kitchen garden.
There will be a limited number of plants to buy and teas from Embleton school and church groups. Sociable dogs on leads are welcome.
Natasha McEwen, who set up a garden design business 10 years ago, replanted the 30m border, at the foot of the kitchen garden wall, two years ago. Natasha and her husband Alex created the Sensory Garden at Howick.
It is open from 11am to 5pm. Entry is £5, children free, and tickets can be bought in advance for Saturday on the NGS website, or pay on the door.

Hide AdMeanwhile, Longwitton Hall gardens, near Morpeth, are opening after a gap of three years and as part of the National Garden Scheme.
The six-acre gardens and woodland comprise herbaceous borders, a rose garden, laburnum tunnel and lavender walk and have been redeveloped over the last few years
The gardens open at noon on Sunday, June 27 and teas will be available.
