“It’s been quite a success on the internet,” said Bamburgh Parish Council chairman Barbara Brook.
Clerk Dorothy Scott revealed the webcam received 1,344 hits during December.
“The hits have tapered away now but certainly it was worthwhile having it up in December,” she told members.

However, Coun Brook revealed there had been a lukewarm response from local businesses.
“The lights committee thought that perhaps the businesses might take it on but there hasn’t been much uptake on that,” she said.
At the council’s November meeting, lights committee member Allan Newton said the webcam ‘could be a tremendous tool for promoting the village’.
