Staff set sights on new roles
If you're looking for career progression, perhaps you should have gone to Specsavers.
For two members of the team at the optician in North Shields are celebrating achievements.
Eddie O’Gara, who first joined the branch 12 years ago, has returned to take on the role of store director after taking time out to travel and gain more experience.
And colleague Louise Thompson, who began working at the store as a school leaver, has now completed her degree to become a fully qualified dispensing optician.
The 27-year-old took the opportunity to gain her qualification through Specsavers, attending Anglia University for three days every three months and studying in her spare time.
She said: “I’d like to thank the team for their encouragement, support and guidance over the last three years. I feel it’s a joint achievement.”
